• What STEMhero does with user data:

  • STEMhero, through its program MeterHero, does not collect, maintain, use or share student personal information beyond that needed for authorized educational/school purposes, or as authorized by the parent/student. Nor do we sell student personal information. We do not use or disclose student information collected through an educational/school service (whether personal information or otherwise) for behavioral targeting of advertisements to students. Nor do we build a personal profile of a student other than for supporting authorized educational/school purposes or as authorized by the parent/student.

  • STEMhero only uses the student email to create an individual data dashboard for students, associate students with their teachers, and display a "username” (the characters of the email occurring before the “@”, as a way for teachers to identify their individual students).

• How STEMhero enhances user functionality through Google OAuth2:

  • Students and teachers are able to log into the MeterHero dashboard faster and easier by signing in with Google OAuth2, because they do not have to learn and remember a separate username and password;

  • The MeterHero dashboard is able to allow students to securely collect and edit their utility data. At the same time, because of OAuth2, students can view anonymous data of classmates but not edit the data. In this way, student learning and motivation is enhanced through the ability to compare with peers, without compromising the privacy or security of their utility data.

  • Teachers are able to assess and support individual student learners more efficiently.
