Predict Your Usage

Objective: Students will use tools and models to predict their average daily consumption.

Option 1: Your school has a local utility sponsor, and a local area average usage is displayed

Multiply the local average daily usage by the number of people that live in your home. Enter that total daily average into the project plan, select the units, and click the check-mark (save) button.

Example: The local area average daily usage is 156 gallons per person per day. There are 4 people living in the home. 156 x 4 = 624 gallons per person per day.

Option 2: Your school does not (yet) have a local utility sponsor and so no local area average daily usage is displayed

Click on the map below to predict your average daily consumption at your home based on state and regional averages.

*Remember: Predict your usage in the same units as your data source. For example, if your water meter reads in cubic feet, then find the average usage in cubic feet.
